There is no question that we have the most experienced and seasoned mechanics in all of Ann Arbor working in our shop.

We got our start as a repair-only bike shop and learned the importance of maintaining a staff that possesses a solid foundation in bicycle mechanics, parts inter-compatibility and a vast knowledge of old, new and emerging technologies. 

From simple tune-ups to complete mechanical overhauls, each of our mechanics is capable of efficiently and accurately repairing any issue your bike may have. Additionally we are happy to do smaller, simpler a la carte repairs and more complex services like suspension overhauls, wheel building and frame builds.

We keep an extensive selection of replacement parts in our shop from all major manufacturers, including Sram, Shimano, DT Swiss, Continental, Rene Herse and so much more. If it’s not here, we have dealer agreements with all the major brands and access to a diverse distribution network and can quickly source any part your bike might need to keep it rolling.

Our Repair Process

Getting your bike repaired at Sic Transit couldn’t be easier.

It all begins by bringing your bike into us to have it evaluated. One of our service writers will evaluate your bike, tell you what they see and give you an honest estimate of what it would take to get it working like new again. This is a free, zero obligation consultation where you have a chance to ask questions and make decisions about what is best for your budget and use of your bicycle.

If you decide to move forward with the repair, we will find the next available spot in our schedule, make sure we have all of your contact information and safely store the bike in our basement until the service date arrives.

If you cannot live without your bike while it waits for service, and it’s safe to ride, we can make an appointment for you to ride the bike and bring it back right before the service date.

Once the service date comes, our mechanic will proceed with the agreed-upon services. If we encounter something we did not notice upon intake we will reach out to you before moving forward so that you are always aware of what is happening to your bike and what it will cost.

When complete we will text, email or call you (your choice) and let you know your bike is ready to ride again.

If after you begin riding your bike again there is anything that is not to your liking, please reach out to us so we can make arrangements to remedy the situation as fast as possible. We stand behind our work and genuinely want you to be happy and satisfied with your experience at our repair shop.
