Although we officially opened in 2009, the roots of our business go back to 2006 when Joe & Michael began buying and selling bikes out of a shared garage in Ann Arbor's Old West Side. They soon found themselves with little room to move amid the mass of bikes.
They began looking for a workspace to continue their passion and hobby, all the while laying the groundwork for a business.
Our first repair shop was found on a bike ride through Lowertown. We immediately saw the potential in the vacant service garage next to Rush’s Barber Shop. As we peered in the window that afternoon, we saw a 1978 Schwinn sitting in the corner. We knew at that moment we had found our space.
Bursting at the seams in early 2014, we added a new retail location on the same block and vastly expanded our selection of new bicycles and accessories, in addition to building a professional fitting studio on the second floor.
Still struggling for space, in late 2020 we relocated our service garage into the Anson Brown Building, at 1001 Broadway Street. The space, formerly occupied by St. Vincent DePaul for over 30 years, is not only directly next to our retail showroom but also happens to be the oldest commercial building in Ann Arbor, built in 1832.
Through our growth we have focused on building a talented and inspired staff who are passionate about cycling, customer service and helping people reach their goals on a bike.
