Before the Handmade Bike Show, enjoy a 25-mile ride that highlights the best cycling Ann Arbor has to offer: a little gravel, a little tarmac, a little multi-use path, and even some single track if you so choose.

Leave town along the scenic Border to Border trail before getting adventurous at the dam and railroad crossings near Barton Nature Area. Cross over the beautiful Huron River and keep an eye out for turtles basking at the foot of the dam. (You might even see Lugs Not Drugs' friend Huckleberry!)

Catch a dip on the way out of town at Barton Nature Area or keep rolling to scenic Huron River Drive; the starting point of the area's most infamous road ride. Turn right to cross the historic Maple-Foster bridge and climb up a series of riverside bluffs to the county's glorious gravel roads.

Be sure to bring ~$10 if you want to stop by the cash-only maple syrup stand at Cares Family Maples farm on Farrell Road. Bring a few dollars and get yourself some pure, local, Michigan maple syrup (bottles fit nicely in a jersey pocket!).

As you're coming back into town, turn left off of Pontiac Trail at the bus stop to access the Ann Arbor "Local Loop" single track trail system. If you would like to opt out of the single track, keep going straight/south on Pontiac Trail until you see Sic Transit Cycles on the right hand side of the road.

The route will not be marked. Please be sure to download the map on your phone or GPS device and be courteous to fellow cyclists, joggers, dog walkers, and everyone else on the multi-use trails. As always, ride at your own risk. Helmets are required!
