Cast & Crew

Oh it’s cheesy but its our people who make this shop what it is. More than coworkers, we’ve become a family over the years. That’s what keeps us inspired to come to work every day because it doesn’t feel like a job, it’s just fun. We hope that shines through when you walk through our doors, whether it be for service or if you are looking for a new bike, or the perfect bell. Bells are important. This is the bike shop we all want to be a part of, and most of us have worked at quite a few at this point. So please come in, hang out and talk bikes. Better yet, want to go for a ride?

Looking for a job? We always need good people with the right attitude. If you’ve worked in a shop before and this sounds fun to you shoot us an email and lets talk. This isn’t for everyone, and we’re pretty picky about who we let in, but if you’re still reading this might be for you.

  • Joe is a native Ann Arborite and started Sic Transit with Michael in 2009. He remains our fearless leader and the glue that keeps this family together.

  • Another native to Ann Arbor, Michael started Sic Transit with Joe in 2009. Although he is currently on loan to Recycles in Copenhagen, Denmark, he laid the groundwork for our aesthetic vision and identity.

  • MIke started working in local shops in 1999 finding a permanent home with Sic Transit in 2010. As our Showroom/Sales manager, he’s the guy to talk to when looking for a new bike and has ridden all the roads you haven’t heard of yet.

  • Brent dove deep into the bike business in 2012 and we were lucky he joined our family after he moved to A2. He’ll be one of the first people you meet when you come to our service department.

  • Brad started out in shops back in 2008 and has been a big part of the bike community ever since. He came to Sic Transit in 2020 and has been a pillar in our service department since. His big smile and enthusiasm for bikes is contagious!

  • Marc moved to Michigan in 2005 and began working in the bike shops. After trying all the shops on for size, he found his home with us in 2016.

  • With 30+ years in the bike business, we were lucky to import Peter from Tallahassee. There is not much this guy has not seen or done on, or to, a bike. This man consumes an impressive number of calories everyday, mostly in cheese flavored snacks.

  • Ben started out in shops as a teenager in 1995 at Cycle Cellar. His encyclopedic knowledge of parts, compatibility and bikes can’t be matched. Who needs the internet when we have Ben?

  • Jessica Maxine is the face behind FitMi!, bicycle fitter to the stars and lead saxophonist. She began working in shops in 2005 and racked up 10 years of fitting experience before starting FitMi in 2015.

  • Brooks is likely the first person you’ll see when you visit our showroom. Imported from K’zoo, he is a former tournament bocce ball champion, speaks 17 languages and is a vinyl record aficionado. He also collects native shrubbery and is a competitive botanist. His recent attempt to set a new record for blindfolded 36 holes of golf in snorkel equipment is currently under review by Guinness World Records.

In a previous career, Brooks worked at restoring antique taxidermy collections from the early 1800s, specializing in tail reconstruction. The techniques he pioneered are still used to this day.

And as a young surfer he explored the beaches of Southern California, from La Jolla to Leo Carrillo and up to Pismo.

Currently Brooks is working with the National Coffee Association and OSHA to establish workplace coffee brewing standards. A personal mission, he believes no one should suffer poorly brewed, bitter coffee and employers should be held accountable for this type of workplace abuse.

A prolific time traveler, in the world of Animal Crossing Brooks was able to bend the laws of time and space for his own financial advantage.

  • Noonan

We said we would never be those people, to list our shop dog in the staff page? But Noonan is part of our family and possibly the biggest draw to visiting the shop.
